IT IS IN EXPERIENCING GOD THAT OUR LIVES ARE CHANGED: CHARLES PRICE

Here are my notes from Charles Price (Living Truth Ministry 5th April 2010 (Easter)

It is in experiencing God, The “Mystery of Life” that our lives are changed – through union with Christ.

“It’s in our weakness that God’s strength is made perfect.”

“Without Me, you can do nothing.” – John 15

“It is My Father living in me.” – John 14:10

Enabling, empowering, living in dependency on God.

“Apart from Me you can do nothing.”

Jesus taught spiritual principles enabling God to work supernaturally THROUGH Him.

“Jesus Christ was never less than God; but he never lived as more than a man.” In other words, Jesus subjected himself to limitations and he drew on resources you and I can also draw on – God, the Ultimate Source.

How to Turn the Ordinary into the Extra-ordinary in your Life (from Charles Price)

Here are my notes from Charles Price (Living Truth Ministry 30th August 2009)

My Note:
Where the term “Him” is used, use whatever term which you use (She, It, Ultimate Source, Ground of All Being, Higher power, Universal Consciousness???) to describe God, Source of Life, Infinite Spirit
*
“The Son can do nothing without the Father.”

“I am here to fulfil.”

Whatever He says, DO IT! (don’t be scared, my good friend “John boy”!)
Listen. Ask for His co-operation.
God is the initiator of anything significant.
Jesus gives a command: “Speak it into existence!”
Every act is precipitated by an act of obedience.

Depend on Him. Just TRUST
He takes the ordinary and produces the extra-ordinary – his raw material is the ordinary.
God does things you and I could never do… so revealing His glory. Jesus’s disciples put their faith in Him.

THE (MY) GREATEST RACE

Paul had a purpose in living – he had the single-mindedness of an athlete in training. St Paul lived with a selfless attitude in serving and giving.

What we put into our minds determines what comes out in our words and actions. Paul tells us to program our mind with thoughts that are true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and worthy of praise.

Don’t let anything take your eye off the goal – knowing Christ. Focus all your energies towards winning the race.

DEPEND, SUBMIT and simplyTRUST

Shine your light brightly for Christ, the One who makes the ordinary in our lives extra-ordinary.

What Did Jesus Really Mean?

These are a few of my notes that I’m jotting down, as I study the life of Jesus Christ. Hope these thoughts may be of interest… and perhaps even “enlightening” to you too. Enjoy…

Jesus spoke often of the highest values like respect for others, honour, truth, tolerance, virtuousness, especially love and so on.

He used many figures of speech, taking “poetic licence” to get across his message to the masses. Even with dashes of humour, hyperbole, like “take the plank out of your own eye, before you tell another to take the speck out of their own eye” (or something like that). Jesus wasn’t literally talking about a “plank of wood”, or “a (powerful) faith that can move a mountain” (not a “literal mountain”, as only God can do that!)

PEACE

Jesus spoke about a true and lasting peace… and it all begins within… in the heart.

His words “I come not to bring peace, but a sword” are often misunderstood. He was using a metaphor, implying that following him through faith (fanatically” would cause division within families and in the community.

IS WAR EVER JUSTIABLE?

When he spoke about “loving one’s enemies”, he wasn’t speaking about war situations, as Christianity maintains that war is justified in certain situations (and as an absolutely final resort after all other options (to preserve peace) have been exhausted) – to remove evil tyrants and dictators, who are killing scores of innocent civilians (as an Adolf Hitler did). Muhammar Gaddafi? But then what about situations like President Bashar al-Assad in Syria and Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe???

When Jesus spoke about being “reborn”, he was using a figure of speech and it was not intended to be taken literally. When a person is “reborn to enter the Kingdom of God”, it means transformation to a new way of thinking – in short, it’s a new heart, a new way (or path) of living, which results in “embracing a new life” (“be transformed by the renewing of your mind”- Romans, I “tink”).

This transformation starts from that moment in a believer’s life. And it’s this new (fresh)spirit (of faith, when a person chooses to follow Jesus’s teachings and fully LIVE them), which lives on (even after a person’s life on earth), so this is meant by the term eternal!

We can do no better than end with the words of a leader who gave his life for the cause of justice, freedom and abundant life for all people. ..

“Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

“True success is just being the person you really want to be.”

“The task ahead of you can always be overcome by the power within you…and the often seemingly difficult or even “impassible”) path ahead of you is never as steep with the great spirit that lies within you.”

Using words as our weapons, lets see how many hearts can be transformed from hate into… perhaps even love…

and only God can do that!

Living in Trust and Dependence (by Charles Price)

LIVING IN TRUST AND DEPENDANCE (by Charles Price)

With submission to Christ, then life on earth makes sense

(by His Word and through His Spirit).

Christ gave new life through a new spirit – His Spirit (immense)

“I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly.”

Christ gave His Spirit that you may live …more abundantly

Christ is in YOU

* I look to You

* I trust in You

* I depend on You

“If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation.”

The spirit involves personal transformation – a new spirit and a new mind.

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

LIVING IN TRUST AND DEPENDANCE (by Charles Price)

“If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation.”

“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

(Romans 12)

Christ is in YOU

Christ gave Himself to live in you …humbly

We can live in dependence (quiet) in Him

Allow Him to work through you.

“I abide in Him, the Father”

– words of Jesus

However, it’s the Father in me does the work – it’s a partnership (like a co-driver/pilot)

Christianity (applied) is a relationship – one of mutual dependence.

“I by myself can do nothing””…however

You can do it…and together we can do it!

It’s a change of consciousness, our mindsets.

Say to yourself: ” Let Jesus do what seems ‘impossible’ in and through me.”

This was the essence, the core teachings of Jesus Christ.

He was using a metaphor, implying that following him through faith (fanatically” would cause division within families and in the community

But then what about a situation like Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe???

*

Using words as our weapons, lets see how many hearts can be transformed from hate into… perhaps even love…

and only God can do that!

The language of faith is THANKS – acknowledging our dependance on God (it’s a relationship of love and dependancy). Book ‘Experiencing God ‘ by Henry Blackaby and Claude King. With Faith in the Farther, Jesus could do anything… and we’re even more dependant on Him (working in and through us). God is at work around you. He invites you to work WITH Him.

” If you love God, you can live as you please.” – St Augustine

John 15, 17:20-21

His desires are our desires His motivations are our motivations Then His will becomes our experience.

I’m in my Father. Union with Christ enables us to function efficiently. The key is giving THANKS. You are experiencing your dependency on God. Put faith in God and allow Him to work in YOU. Say: “My agenda today is YOURS.” TRUST and OBEY! Say ‘Yes’ to Him! YOU (God) are the initiator of everything. “The Son” can do no nothing without the Father.”

Faith is trust in an object – which does things for you (This makes you less conscious in the exercize of your faith).

We all need a focus for faith, on which to “hang” it (and Jesus is that focus for my faith).

Acts 2:22.

We don’t become clones. Jesus uses our unique personalities and gifts. He is the Source.

Paul: “Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.”

We are His workshop expressing himself. Allow Him to fill us with Himself. I place my trust in YOU.

We are working with God God’s plans God’s agenda and His energy

The highest goal of my ‘little’ life is knowing and experiencing God. Expression “I work for humanity”

A life lived in the spirit of Christ will never die.

Jesus is a focus for my faith.

Jesus makes God real to me.

* * Book ‘Surprized by Hope’ by John Marks???

Jesus spoke of the nature of real power and not perceived power.

In Jesus we see a clue to it all. He came to a place where the world is at its most acute pain and Jesus comes to sort it out. Jesus is elusive – just around the corner.

Just ASK to be filled with His Infinite Spirit. God works mainly through ordinary unassuming people to bring healing and hope to other humans.
