A look at at the overlap between the human mind and spirituality. No, a story that’s “unfolding and writing itself”. A true story that I could never imagine… nor one that I could write myself!

Firstly, what do we understand by the ‘airey-fairey’ term “spiritual”?
The spiritual is another dimension from “everyday living” we can enter into. You are then “in the zone” (as sports-people call this state). It’s like a “highly developed sense of consciousness, like being guided by intuition, the “still small voice within”, which leads to a heightened awareness.
We are all connected, “brothers and sisters in the human family”. We are one with God, the Source from which everything flows. (If the word “God” doesn’t feel right with you, please substitute higher power, Great Designer of the Universe, universal spirit, higher consciousness, great wisdom or whatever concept/language works for you (or means to you). Incidentally, I use the terms “Ultimate Source”, or “Ground of All Being”; as that is my clearest and simplest understanding of this complex concept.
Energy will flow where your attention goes;

SHARING SOME THOUGHTS FROM GARY ZUKAV, AS WELL AS SOME PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON SPIRITUALITY

Energy will flow where your attention goes; so I totally focus on my writings.
A bit “obsessive” (sorry Marie and my boys!). With my writings and in my life with my ‘middle years of maturity”, I’ve learnt not to focus so much on results/outcomes; but rather INTENTION. Not on my mind (and logic or ‘intellect’), but do what’s on my heart with my inner spirit to guide me…
for Divine Intelligence, or God’s will to be revealed.
“Trust yourself, trust your God, trust the process.”
You can tell what you intended by what you experienced in the past. We create intention with our choices. Your intention always affects outcome. Eg. results based on fear, a desire to impress others. You draw it into your life. It comes from the heart. What is your potential? What do you want to GIVE to the world?
Then give to everyone. The soul grows, as your purpose on earth is being fulfilled. In your INTENTIONS and ACTIONS allow for a higher good, to come through…for my higher good and the higher good for all.

Have an attitude of gratitude for what you DO have. Feel and LIVE abundantly.
Live the life you DESERVE. Walk in the direction you want to go, as energy flows easiest with the right actions. You will move in the direction of your most dominant thoughts (because that is where your energy will flow). But we do have to take action – ACT on our “inspirations” (don’t wait to be “inspired”) and be totally COMMITTED. Feel good about yourself and your uniqueness. You are loving, worthy and compassionate. You are a soul on this earth with gifts to give, to share with the world. In your life you are creating and God is with you (more than a ‘mere observer’, I feel. Think differently… then you create differently.
To bring in the new, often we have to let go of the old first.
Provide value and service to the world. How can I best serve people?
Then every person can find full freedom for themselves – the richest gift of freedom of SPIRIT.
The way to find happiness and peace lies in helping other people carry their heavy packs, whatever they are. Each one of us is offered (As Jesus invited us) a life of abundance and enduring peace amidst the clamours and confusions of this world.
Let go, let God, let Good; then watch what happens, what miracles unfold with God’s Infinite Grace.
Your highest joy and prosperity is not achieved by getting everything you desire. True joy comes from allowing God’s infinite spirit to inspire and express through you. Prosperity (feeling it) and happiness is experienced through simply ‘letting go’. Doing this brings to light a understanding (deep) of our inseperable relationship to God, the Ultimate Source, the Ground of all Being, which leads to health, security, true peace of mind and the highest joy. #

Introduction:
This article (in point form) was based upon notes (short), that I’ve taken from Marianne Williamson, as she appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s most uplifting TV program some years back. She’s talking about God, the power of prayer and so on. I feel the spiritual principles mentioned are eternal and meaningful in making our daily lives easier and better; so this is my reason for sharing. Enjoy…

When I don’t know what to do about a particular situation, I’ll say, “OK GOD, I’m going to let you handle it”.
‘Crossing The Threshold Of Hope’.
God doesn’t see your guilt – God sees your innocence.
Just be willing to see the innocence within each other.
Remember one moment of love and innocence from your sister, the course would say that’s the way GOD sees her…
God will give you the capacity to see the innocence in each other.
The power of grace is that God will give you the power to do that.

THE POWER OF PRAYER
So what happens when we pray is that we ask God to give us His thoughts and to give us His eyes. Prayer enables us to take the power of God and bring it down into the plane of our actual earth experience. Therefore, prayer is the medium of miracles.
and most importantly, ANYONE can pray (even when bed-ridden and even if a person is paralysed, thanks Lindsay)!
I place in your hands, dear God.
We ask that your spirit, which is within us now enter more deeply, more profoundly into the minds and hearts than ever before.

It’s light.
I think, and ask God to open the way for light to come in to my life…which is open to just seeing the truth. Put God first.
The future is waiting to happen, if we just LET IT BE (thanks John Lennon).
“I would never be so presumptuous as to tell this woman what she should feel…or I mean, I understand the depth of her, her pain as best I can.” Stimulate the forces of healing in our society, so that these things stop happening. You change the darkness – by adding light to the darkness (“in the midst of darkness, light exists”).
We don’t just concentrate on treating the illness, we concentrate on stimulating the forces of healing. I think each and every one of us, through prayer, through meditation, through serious spiritual practice and devotion, can ask, through the grace of God, to be made into instruments of profound healing and peace and harmlessness. Then God’s answers unfold in the process.
You have to really want to let go of anger, resentment, etc. Open up the channel, let their hearts be able to open to see each other in a new way. God gives us a new heart.
The power of our own soul. “Dear God, lift me up.”
God does not heal us in the past, he heals us in the present…and makes you new.
God knows your heart. God already knows our heart and already what we are thinking and feeling; so why do you have to say it?
I have a personal relationship with God, so I can pray to Him.
I know that He answers my prayers; because of my relationship with Him.
I don’t believe God’s closer to anyone than anyone else? I don’t believe God loves anyone more than anyone else.
How to pray? Invite God’s spirit into every situation; ask God to remove all thoughts not of Him, ask God to show the love in all people, ask to serve only God’s purposes; be honest, be humble, be serious

Prayer, whether it is a formal prayer, from a book, or your own ritual, is to open up your heart, to have a better way, a passage to peace in your life. It’s what we’re all seeking.
Try to reach the highest level of humanity possible. As I awaken every morning, that is my prayer for myself, that God be able to use me as a vessel and that whatever comes brings me to the highest level that God would have me be. All our lives we wish that this time spent on the planet be used to reach the highest level of humanity that is possible for each one of us. This is a life changing experience.

The universal message of God opposing injustice and changing the world for the better. Jesus was the highest revelation of God to humanity.
Listen, be open and let God * “speak” to you

These notes form part of a new manuscript, which I may name ‘A DUMMIES GUIDE TO SPIRITUALITY: HOW TO KNOW and EXPERIENCE GOD’
These are some of the notes (in point form) that I’ve made and collected (instead of stamps and bottle-tops) over the years (some from authors and sources unknown), which may be of interest and get you “tinking” about these “airey-fairey matters”. In sharing these notes, it clarifies my thinking about the ‘overlap’ between the subconscious mind and the concept of a “Higher Being in another dimension”, etc.). If you want to replace the word ‘God’ mentioned so often with ‘Life’, that’s great! Hope it’s not too “heavy heavy” and that these thoughts may be helpful, ‘thought-provoking’ and perhaps even inspirational to you in your spiritual growth.

Everything happens for a reason – spiritual growth???. Everything happens to give meaning and purpose in our lives, for ‘Divine Good’.??? We are born to create. We can be ‘victims of change’ or ‘creators of change’. “T’is better to light a candle, than curse the darkness.”
Life is a miracle. “What looks dead is given promise in life, when we trust in God.”
Touch people in their heart to change.
Listen to your conscience, “the still quiet voice within”, the “voice of the spirit”.

The Person of Jesus:
Related to all societies and peoples. The life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Expand our hearts. Jesus in not just a figure, a story from history. What we can learn, these simplest principles can change lives… for the better.
Nobody had better insight into the human personality than Jesus.
Jesus’s limitless generosity of spirit. Like Nelson Mandela and many other great lives, you can make the rest of your life a noble tribute to humanity. Nelson Mandela shone a light of liberation for South Africa.

Jesus entered into a new form of existence through His wealth of spirit. Christ is a beacon, the “anchor of our faith”.

Your belief creates your truth. You will become what you believe (about yourself). So your belief becomes your truth.
Negative thoughts produce negative results.

We need to capture, then ignite the public consciousness.

Hardship brings you close to God, if you let Him. A ‘resilience of spirit’.
God, the Divine Source does not need to receive…
but humans need to give.
We are just ordinary people; yet God gives us special assignments. (I feel that I’ve been ‘handed a unique task’ for my life – writing, reaching out and sharing).
Touch people in their hearts.
God’s greatest gift to us is to find our own truths (absolute)… through the power of choice.
DON”T LIMIT GOD.
The highest goal of life is knowing and so experiencing God.
God needs human beings in partnership, our hands at work, together with a regeneration of spirit …to help peace become a reality for others.
Be a believer in a God, Who believes in YOU. Plant the seeds of success in the ‘soul of your being’.*
